Was the Bible Really Corrupted? The Evidence Muslims Don’t Expect π

π Is the Bible Corrupted? Let’s Talk Truth π₯
What’s happening, everyone? π It’s been a while since I last wrote to you, but guess what — I’m back, and you’re in luck! This week you’re getting not one but two brand-new articles for the price of one π
We’ve been walking through the five main arguments Muslims often use against Christianity, and today we’re diving into one of the biggest ones:
π£️ “The Bible is corrupted and not the same as the one during the time of Muhammad.”
Well, let me help not only Muslims but anyone who’s ever been told the Bible has been corrupted. That claim is completely false ❌
The Bible we have today has not been corrupted, and we can prove it — through historical evidence, archaeological discoveries, and prophetic accuracy that no other book in the world can match. Let’s dive in π
π 1. The Dead Sea Scrolls — God Preserved His Word
One of the strongest proofs that the Bible has not been corrupted comes from the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947. These ancient manuscripts — over 2,000 years old — contain portions of nearly every book of the Old Testament, including a complete scroll of Isaiah.
When scholars compared them to our modern Hebrew Bible, the accuracy was staggering — over 99% identical, with the differences being minor spelling or stylistic variations that didn’t affect meaning.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” — Isaiah 40:8 πΏ
This confirms that the Old Testament we read today is the same as in the time of Jesus and Muhammad.
π 2. Manuscripts and Early Church Evidence
The New Testament is the most historically attested book in the ancient world. There are over 5,800 Greek manuscripts, 10,000 Latin, and over 9,000 in other languages, totaling around 25,000 ancient copies! π
That’s far more than any other ancient document — Plato’s works have about 7 surviving copies, and Homer’s Iliad has about 600.
Even more, early church writings such as the Didache (written around 100 A.D.) and letters by early Christians like Polycarp and Clement of Rome quote the New Testament extensively — sometimes word for word — showing that the message was already fixed and widespread.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” — Matthew 24:35 ✝️
The teachings of Jesus were not lost or changed — they were copied, preached, and lived out by the early believers from the very beginning.
☪️ 3. What the Quran Actually Says About the Bible
Now, let’s take a look at this argument from the Islamic perspective. Many Muslims say the Bible was corrupted before Muhammad’s time. But here’s the problem — the Quran itself never says that!
In fact, the Quran affirms the truth of the Scriptures that came before it.
“And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light.”
— Surah 5:46 (Al-Ma'idah)
“Let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein.”
— Surah 5:47 (Al-Ma'idah)
If the Bible was corrupted, then why would Allah command Christians to judge by what was revealed in the Gospel? π€
Even more, the Quran accuses some people of corrupting the truth with their tongues, not the written text:
“Among them are those who distort the Scripture with their tongues so that you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture.”
— Surah 3:78 (Aal Imran)
That means the corruption was spoken, not written. In other words, people misrepresented what was in Scripture — but the text itself remained intact.
So, by the Quran’s own admission, the Bible’s writings were not changed.
⚡ 4. The Nature of God — Truth or Deception?
Here’s where it gets even deeper. The Quran describes Allah as:
“And they (the unbelievers) plotted, and Allah plotted, and Allah is the best of deceivers.”
— Surah 3:54 (Aal Imran)
The Arabic word used here — “makr” — literally means deception, trickery, or plotting.
But the God of the Bible is not a deceiver. His nature is truth itself.
“God is not a man, that he should lie.” — Numbers 23:19
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” — John 14:6
“No lie is of the truth.” — 1 John 2:21
The God of the Bible doesn’t just tell the truth — He is Truth. That’s why we can trust Him completely.
In contrast, if your god is described as a “deceiver,” how can you fully trust his word? Even Abu Bakr, one of Muhammad’s closest companions, was reportedly unsure of his salvation because of Allah’s unpredictability. That’s not the nature of a faithful, loving, and truthful God.
π§ 5. Sharia Law and the Concept of Taqiyya
Now here’s something that many people don’t realize — in Islamic law (Sharia), there’s a concept known as Taqiyya, which permits lying or concealment of the truth if it benefits Islam or protects a Muslim from harm.
The principle is derived from verses such as:
“Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced while his heart is secure in faith.”
— Surah 16:106 (An-Nahl)
And Islamic scholars, including Al-Tabari and Al-Ghazali, expanded this to include lying for the sake of Islam’s advantage — such as in war, diplomacy, or defending the faith.
In other words, under Sharia law, it’s permissible to lie if it benefits Islam or protects its reputation.
That’s a major contrast to the God of the Bible, who commands truthfulness at all times:
“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor.” — Ephesians 4:25
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” — Exodus 20:16
The God of the Bible never permits lying, even if it’s for a “good cause.” Because in His Kingdom, truth is never negotiable.
✝️ 6. Jesus’ Death and Resurrection — The Foundation of Truth
Another key difference is the crucifixion. The Quran says:
“And [for] their saying, ‘Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.’ And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them.”
— Surah 4:157 (An-Nisa)
But this raises serious theological issues. If Allah made it appear that Jesus was crucified, then Allah deceived the entire world — including His own followers.
The Bible, however, clearly teaches:
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
And even non-Christian historians such as Josephus and Tacitus confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
But here’s what’s amazing: today, Jesus is appearing in dreams and visions to countless Muslims — especially in Iran, Gaza, and across the Middle East. Many testify that Jesus called them by name, revealed His love, and led them to the Word of God.
“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.” — Psalm 107:20 π
The same Jesus who rose from the dead is still revealing Himself to those who seek Him in truth.
❤️ Final Thoughts
The Bible is not corrupted — it’s confirmed, preserved, and alive.
✅ The Dead Sea Scrolls verify the Old Testament’s accuracy.
✅ The New Testament manuscripts are unmatched in historical reliability.
✅ The Quran itself acknowledges the Torah and Gospel as divine revelation.
✅ And Jesus continues to reveal Himself across the world today.
“The word of the Lord endures forever.” — 1 Peter 1:25 π
So if you’ve ever doubted, I challenge you — ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you. π
If He truly is God the Son, He will show you. Start with the Gospel of John or Matthew, and you’ll meet the living Word for yourself.
We’re here to walk with you, pray with you, and help you grow in knowing the truth — because the Truth has a name, and His name is Jesus Christ ✝️π₯
